Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

Do I have any recourse to sue a company who during the interview process and follow up calls before accepting the position, told me that the company (its a city/state municipal corporation in Chicago - not a true gov agency) had no plans for layoffs and said the company is stable, but on the first day of work, the CIO appoligizes for lying to me and for them not disclosing that the company is splitting operations to a new not for profit, a provate management company, and laying off all but 30 of 700 peope employed by the comapny on July 1, 2011. They said they didn't disclose these facts because they knew I would not acpt the job (in his own words they didn't want to scare me off). And yes I am layed off July 1st and must try and get a job with the private management company who likely will cut much of the staff including me.
