Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

I worked as a Nanny for 2 months in mid 2013. I have a lot of Nanny experience and I feel I did a very good job for the family. However I was let go and I was given a very vague explanation why. I was not given a 2 week notice. They paid me $100 extra when they let me know. We discussed a contract but it did not include anything regarding notice from the family or me. I am wondering if I should go to small claims court to seek a 2 weeks payment.

There is no requirement in the law that you be given a two week notice. Moreover, unless you agreed on a two week notice, you are not entitled to it.
