Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

I have a person living and sharing residency with me in my house. The verbal agreement is that he will perform certain jobs in order to live/share the residence. This occupier has refused to perform the agreed-upon task. Do I have a right to change locks and keep him out, provided I give him all his belongings?
