Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Illinois

I live in Illinois and I was riding with my friend in his truck and he was pulled over for not wearing his seatbelt the officer made us both get out and walk our I.d cards to him and when he ran our names he called me over and started questioning me why my license plates were ran twice in the past 3 days which I did not know he then told me to go have a seat back in the truck then a few minutes later called me back over and handed me my I.d card back with a failure to wear seatbelt ticket when in fact I really was wearing my seatbelt. What can I do about this can I sue for harassment or take any other course about this misuse of authority?

You can go to court with your friend and the two of you can testify that you were wearing your seat belt, and if it's 2 people versus the officer, and you two are credible, the judge may side with you and dismiss the ticket. NO guarantees.
