Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

Hit and Run Accident

My son was hit by a hit and run driver and the man only received tickets. My son has injuries. The man never called 911 I did. What do I do to make sure this man takes on the repsonsibilty for what he has done. He is a promint buisness owner in our town and I feel they will try to hide what he has done. Can someone please direct me in the right direction.

Re: Hit and Run Accident

Was there a police report made? What happened to the ticket the other driver received? When is the Court date? Has it already passed? If so, what happened at the traffic court?

What are you son's injuries? Has he been treated?

There are a lot of questions you have failed to answer and so it is simply difficult to answer your inquiry with any accuracy.

If you want to "set the other driver straight" you will never achieve that. You can only sue him and his insurance company will pay out, if you prove that he is liable. If he is a prominent business person in your community, sure he will try to throw his weight around and so there is not much you can do there... you can only hit him where it hurts and sue him for medical bills, pain and suffering, wage loss, any out of pocket expenses and loss of normal life and future necessary medical care.

My office handles such claims on a routine basis and if you have more questions, contact me at your convenience.
