Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

My condo association in Illinois is conducting board elections and one candidate is suggesting he doesn't trust the management to collect the votes and wants people to mail their ballots directly to him. This seems very suspicious to me, is it legal?

The board determines procedures for its own elections. NOT candidates or individual unit owners. When you say "management" do youy mean the board, or a management COMPANY it has hired? If the board is tallying its own votes, then those are records any owner can access through proper request. Same if an outside management company is handling things. If a vote is improper, it can be declared invalid.
