Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Condominium Rental

I have purchase a condo in complex where I was told there is ''no rental'' rule. However I have found out later that this rule is only for anyone who has purchased an unit after year 1988. Several investors who have purchased the units before 1988 and own number of units in the complex, freely rent their units as they please.

I feel this is grossly unfair and perhaps unconstitutional.

The ''no rental'' rule should apply to all or none.

Any comments or thoughts please?

Re: Condominium Rental

You should discuss this at a meeting of the association, and get the "rule" changed or clarified to allow you to rent if you wish. Good Luck!
