Hi, why would I be listed under a Defendant on a foreclosure case regarding my wife and step parents if I am not listed as a borrower nor owner of the home? Also the mortgage paper were signed way before me and my wife even met...

Were you ever on title or a loan? If you are an occupant, or name on a tax bill. Several possibilities. Lender wants to get as clean title as possible through foreclosure -- all interests "ended" and the ability to evict if you occupy.
