there was a mistake in my closing benefitting me $36,000

I sold my condo to my son and gave him a gift of equity so that he wouldnt have to put any money down, but during the closing they didnt count out this gift of equity and gave me a check for 32,000 and now after one month they realized what happened and want the money back, but I have already spent in, what can I do, please get back to me asap thank you.

It is important to determine who gave you the check; e.g., was it a title company check? In any event, I would opine that you are going to hear from a lawyer soon. You should retain legal counsel now.

It sounds as though the money was going either to you or your son. When you say they want the money back, you do not indicate who wants the money. That is a very important in answering your question, as you have not indicated where the money that was given you came from.
