Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I was pre-approved for a home loan and 1 week before closing on a property was denied because a judgement I thought was satisfied in my bankruptcy was still open. By this point I had blown $1000 in inspections and earnest money. Is the mortgage company liable for my wasted expenses because they should have known about the open judgement before pre-approving my loan?

Not sure what you mean that a judgment you thought was discharged (I am guessing that is what you mean when you say satisfied) in your bankruptcy was still open. Either it was discharged or it was not. Have you checked with your bankruptcy attorney?
