Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

regarding property title

brought a 2 flat building in chicago on 11/08, building holder is a bank. All transcaton go through my lawyer, my bank and title company assigned by the seller bank. Title company from Michigan. Jan 09, refinance through my bank, my bank find out title was not yet recored in city oc Chicago. My Bank contact the title company in Michigan, they said missing paper work, later they said to my Bank they mail to the City of Chicago to record. My Bank confirm City of Chicago received the paper work but noway to verify when will record.Now June 09 still no record in Chicago, ask my Bank they said nothing can be done except wait. Need advise what to do .

Deeds have to be recorded in the Cook County Recorder of Deeds office.

This sounds very out of the ordinary. It is odd

that the title company is in Michigan. Also, the City of Chicago does not

record deeds. Deeds are recorded at the Cook County Recorder's Office.

Assuming that your attorney is licensed in Il., you should contact him. Good luck.
