social security number

for the second year in a row we haved tried to file return on line. They tell us we can not because someone has already filed using our 14 year olds social security number. how do we rectify this before she starts working.

Your 14 year old may already be a victim of identity theft. You should get a copy of her credit report immediately to make sure she is not taking on debt and if you find evidence of theft you will have to call each creditor separately.

There are companies that help with this and you can file a police report... please feel free to contact us if you want to talk.
