Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

License revoked??

About 4-5 yrs ago my husband was involved in a accident in Illinois.. we didnt get the notice to appear in court because we had moved out of state (IL).. and my husband who was my boyfriend did not forward his mail.. When we went to get him a license in Georgia they said we needed a letter of clearence .. so I requested it and found out his license had been revoked. Because he hadnt appeared in court. What can we do to get his license back or atleast get it to where he can drive to and from work? Thank You..

Re: License revoked??

Hello. It will be necessary to find out where

the court case was held and then go back into

court and advise the judge that your husband was

not notified. I presume that he was sued and

there is a judgment against him. The person

who sued him then went to the Illinois Secretary

of State and your husband's license was revoked

when the judgment was not satisfied. This is

a very serious matter. In my opinion, it can

only be cleared up on the Illinois side. I will

be happy to answer any additional questions that

you might have.

Re: License revoked??

As you have found out, not appearing in court can result in an outcome that is not good for you. In any event, I would like to know in what county this matter (and there probably were two matters, the traffic ticket and the civil lawsuit)is pending in. Please advise, and then and I tell you how to proceed.
