Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

change benificiary

my 15 yr old daughter's father died after 4 yrs of being completely dibilitated from an auto accident. We've been receiving SSA but should we have been collecting from his long term diability? Also she was named as primary benificiary on his life insurance and somehow his siters (with power of attorney) changed it to their names and my daughter is no longer a benificiary. If we contest this and get the money do we have to pay his debt?

Re: change benificiary

If your daughter is a beneficiary under a life insurance policy.

In order to determine her rights under the disability policy, you will need to obtain a copy of the policy and have a lawyer review it for you.

You should sit down with an attorney to review all of these issues. Only someone with all of the facts in front of him will be able to give you proper advice.

Good luck to you.
