In Illinois can a life insurance beneficiary be changed without spouse consent?

The owner of the policy should be able to change the beneficiary without the consent or involvement of any other party. So, if it is your policy, you should be able to change it. One exception I would see is a court order to the contrary, for example if the owner of the policy was ordered in a divorce case to maintain insurance.
