Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

in the will?

My father died a month ago and his second wife and I are not close. How do I find out if I was in my father's will or not?

Re: in the will?

A will is required to be filed with the Probate Clerk of Court in the county in which a person dies.

If there is a will on file, you will be able to review it and make a copy at the clerk's office.

If there was no will, then your father's estate would pass by the intestate laws of the state of Illinois.
