How long do I have to file a workmans comp claim? What do I have to do if I feel my last place of employment wrongfully terminated me?

You are asking entirely different questions.

1.) If you were injured, you needed to report the injury to your employer or supervisor within 45 days AND you need to hire counsel OR personally file an Application for Adjustment of Claim with The Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission.

2.) If you wish to pursue a Wrongful Termination Claim, you want to consult an Employment Law attorney or, better still, an attorney who handles BOTH Workers' Compensation and Wrongful Discharge claims. This claim MUST be resolved or a lawsuit filed on or before the 2nd anniversary of you termination.

Speak with an attorney today. BOTH of these matters are taken on contingency so there should be NO COST to you unless the attorney wins compensation for you.
