Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

settlment

My wc case was settled several months ago after four yrs and ending at the appellate court level. I recieved a lump sum back pay amt, plus lifetime bi-weekly cks for permanent total disability. my atty is also recieving my cks and taking 20 percent from them, then i pickup a ck for the reduced amt at his office from thier client fund. Is that legal or standard procedure or ethical? Im losing sleep over this but am afraid to confront him !
