Re: IT Law in India

Further to my earlier mail yesterday, I can send you the bare act and rules on Information Technology Act 2000 to you if you wanted to have it for the first question but for the next two, I need detailed information to assist you.

Thank you,

N. Ramaswami

Re: IT Law in India

I thank you very much for the inquiry and the opportunity to assist you.

The information given is some what confusing. I believe that you are referring to Information technology laws and not the Income Tax Law of India. Please clarify.

The second question is very vague? Are you accused of having committed a crime or caused a civil wrong or what else? Laws in India have generally provide for both penal provisions and civil actions and they include the Indian Patent Act, Trade Mark Act etc. In the absence of any specific information, it is difficult to answer this question in a hypothetical way.

India has a large judicial system and we have thousands of courts. We are a country with a population of nearly 1100 million people and we have a vast judicial structure. Please tell me precisely what exactly is your problem so that I can do a specific legal reserach for you and assit you. The questions that are given now are highly generalised and sweeping in their nature.

Thank you,

Very truly yours,

N. Ramaswami
