Re: What the rights of a adopted Child

Under Sec.12 of Hindu Adoption & Maintenance Act,1956, an adopted child becomes the child of his adoptive parents for all purposes and all his ties from his earlier parents get severed. Sec.10[ii] prohibits further adoptions, which includes re-adoption. Sec.15 declares that a validly made adoption cannot be cancelled nor renounced by the adopted child. This Act has overriding effect over all texts, rules, customs, or usages of Hindu religion.
