Legal Question in Employment Law in India

Hi,

I m employed with an IT firm for last 3 months. However, the problem is that the role and profile offered to me during my interview, is not in lines with what i am currently made to work on.

I have started looking out but in the meantime i want to take legal opinion on the notice period.

This company has no probation period and an employee resigning has to pay 3 months notice period.

Am i suppose to pay this or can i do away with it? Pls let me know what does labour law ( or the law applicable) has to say on this matter ?
