Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Indiana

Law office Jacob, Hammerle & Johnson, LLC had contacted my wife in regards of a medical bill. They were calling her, myself as well as family members trying to resolve. On July 14, 2015 She sent a certified letter to the collection lawyer asking for proof of the debt, included in the letter she was asking for a cease of all efforts at collection until they have provided proper validation of the debt. Today 1/11/15 papers were sent to the house for appearance to show in small claims court... What are my options and can we fight it..

You must go to court and file an answer and appearance in the time given in the summons and appear in court whenever you are notified. Since the plaintiff has an attorney has an attorney, you should probably try to retain one for yourself. You have a right to see whatever evidence there is of indebtedness, but it would be highly unlikely that a claim would be filed against you if there wasn't some basis.
