Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Indiana

salary exempt

I am a salaried exempt employee. Because the job was not completed, I was asked to make up vacation time, hour for hour. I had accrued this vacation time and was approved for the week I took. I am being harrassed over and over thru emails to make up this time. They do specify in the emails my bboss sent me that the 40 hours of work I missed for vacation had to be made up. Is this legal? Nobody else in the department has bbeen made to do this.

Re: salary exempt

To the extent your employer has properly classified you as exempt from overtime, your employer can require you to work as many hours as necessary to complete your job duties without paying you any additional compensation. Additional information is necessary to determine whether your legal rights have been violated. I recommend contacting an employment attorney who offers a free initial consultation. I would be happy to discuss this matter in more detail and can be reached at 317.706.1100.
