Legal Question in Elder Law in Indiana

If I am a resident of Indiana, a patient on the rehab center and I own a home. My sons name is on my property as well as mine. He lives in the house. The nursing facility is telling me I may have to sell the house when my insurance runs out. Is that right

The answer depends on many variables. First, whether your son is just an accommodation party on the house or whether he really purchased. Another factor is when his name was put on the house. Third, the fact that he lives there is of no consequence. Fourth, thee decision is also dependent upon whether you will be returning to the house.
