Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

Please explain the 6% rule for unreimbursed medical expenses.

We are in Hamilton County, Indiana. When our custody/support order was written, the ''6% rule'' was figured in, stating the custodial parent was to the pay the first 6% of projected unreimbursed medical expenses. Was this unusual, or did it result from a law or statute? If such a law exists, what it is and how can I go about getting a copy of it?

The 6% Rule is part of the application of the Child Support Guidelines. A copy of the guidelines should be available in either your local library or at the Courthouse.
