Legal Question in Family Law in Indiana

I am a pregnant 17 year old and my mother thinks she has more rights to my unborn daughter than I do. I live with the baby's father who is older than me and my parents willing let me move out with him and they have no supported me since, she claims she can have arrested, can she? Does she have rights to my baby? She is unemployed, drug addicted and lost her house recently.

She can conceivably report you as a runaway because you do not live with her, or report you as a child in need of services depending on how much older this guy is. I would doubt either of those things will happen. She has no "rights" to your baby.

You need an adult who can advocate for you. A boyfriend does not count. You should look for one in your life who can help you.

Good luck.
