Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Indiana

I did some work for a man and in return he agreed to give me a vehicle and pay a percentage for work done, I never received any money from him after 5 months of working so I stopped , the vehicle has been in my name with a clear title for over a year with no Lienholder and the other day I received a letter from his attorney stating I have to surrender the vehicle. Do I have to give the vehicle back ? There was no paperwork signed saying, how long I would work for him

If the vehicle is in your name and you performed sufficient work to approximate the value of the vehicle, it should be yours. However, be prepared to go to court over this. So, you'll have to decide whether the cost of the litigation is worth it. You should consult with an attorney, get a fee quote, and make your decision as to whether you want to surrender the vehicle or go to court to fight over it.
