Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Indiana

I signed a promissory note with an individual who I was dating at the time for 2,000 dollars. Needless to say things went south right after we both signed it and had it notarized. She wrote me a check for the amount and I was using the money to purchase a new racing bicycle. I ordered the bike and then to find out she cancelled the check. Now I have a bike coming in and no money to pay for it � Is this even legal.
