Legal Question in Personal Injury in Indiana

My truck caught fire in the parking lot of a local business after I had just made a purchase there. The clerk refused me a fire extinguisher so I had to watch it burn for several minutes until a fireman came and put it out. I sustained a lot of damage to the vehicle. I filed a complaint on the corporate website. The store manager and the regional manager have contacted me and offered some of the parts I need to repair the vehicle, but not all of them or any compensation for labor. Are they responsible for any of my expenses due to the negligence of their employee?

The employee had no duty to you. In fact, an argument could be made that he or she was concerned about your safety and did not feel he or she should give you an extinguisher. In my opinion they actually did not have to offer anything to you.
