Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Indiana

My brother is on home hospice and has a will. There are some items in his home that he wants to give to certain individuals, can he have a list done, sign, date and have notarized? He wants to make sure it can't be disputed after his death.

It should be a codicil to his will.
