Legal Question in Disability Law in Iowa

I live in apartment, When I moved in I said I only had one dog. A few months later the landlord discovers I have another dog. In my lease it says I am allowed to have to pets. And I have told her I will put down another deposit for the other one. She wont let me because she said I was trying to hide it. I am bi-polar and am on social secerity. I got 2 letters from my doctor stating I need them as companion pets but today I got a letter saying that I need to prove my condition will worsten if I dont have them. So I am wandering how I can go about keeping them with out getting introuble and what I can leagally do to keep them with out giving up my apartment. Aimee
