Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

My child's father was arrested on a violation of a domestic violence protection order. The document is unclear, though. This order has been in effect since December, and the visitation agreement has a segment that gives the protected party (myself) authority to authorize additional visitation "but at her own violation " .I had allowed him to be at my home while I went and ran errands. I had anxiety attack while I was still by my house so I went into the restroom to compose myself, as these attacks are crippling for me. He had become concerned and called an ambulance, only to be arrested and detained on their arrival. I feel like he was within his rights of the order and should not have been taken into custody. Can he be released on these facts?

It's dubious at best. In my experience there are very few extenuating circumstances attached to an order of protection. In fact I've seen people get arrested for encouraging others to violate said orders. I'm sure his attorney will be interested in all this when his court date comes up.
