Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

my daughter who is 14 lives with her father who has custody thru a mutual agreement. however she is telling me living with him is a hostile enviroment. she wants to live with me, however her father will not allow her to. he has been mentally, physically, and verbally abusing her. reports have been made to DHS to no avail, they take his word over hers. she has been hospitalized due to attempting suicide due to her father. DHS refused to do a thourough investigation. she is living in tremendous fear of her father and nobody will listen to her. what can we do to get her out of this hostile enviroment. i dont have the funds to hire an attourny and file a modification based on significant changes in cercumstances. She wants out of his care and custody. he does have crimminal record of domestic abuse numerous times, child endangerment, as well as failure to provide proper supervision. one of the domestics was with displaying a weapon. I fear for my daughters safety and well being. what can we do. what rights does she have? thank you. Desperate for answers.

Unfortunately you will have to hire an attorney some how or other because I do not think a contested custody hearing is something you could manage on your own.
