Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

dividing assets

I was in Kuwait for 4 months for work. During this time my wife withdrew the money as soon as my check was deposited. She withdrew a total of $25,000. she told me she was paying bills but was really placing the funds in her own account. Will I be able to get all, half, or none of the money back in the divorce. It was a joint account she took the funds from, but I could not stop her while I was in Kuwait.

Also being married almost 5 years is she entilted to any of my thrift saving plan through work?

Re: dividing assets

Anything that was acquired during the marriage is considered marital property and subject to equitable distribution. If you have concerns over the money I suggest you contact your attorney as soon as possible and file your divorce, so that you are legally able to stop any transfer of the money.
