Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I have had guardianship of my granddaughter from shortly after she was born up until she turned 5 last month. She has always lived with me and her mother, my daughter has been in and out of her life throughout the 5 yrs. and even when my daughter has lived with me, the burden of care has been on me to care for my granddaughter. She has made several comments, on many more fingers that I have that she can't be a mother or doesn't want to be. To which I have text messages and emails of. This last week she threatened to take my granddaughter to dis and drop her off and give her up. What rights do I have? Can I get legal custody or an order to let my granddaughter stay with me, if she decides to leave or if I kick my daughter out? My daughter was also diagnosed with bipolar at 14 and chooses not to take medication. What do I do..?

Hire an attorney. This is way too messy to handle alone.
