Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

Regarding same-sex marriage and giving birth in Iowa -- My understanding is that in Iowa it is legal for same-sex couples who are married to both be listed on a baby's birth certificate as legal parents to the child long as they were married before the baby's birth. I live in Council Bluffs, IA, but am concerned that I may have to deliver my baby at an Omaha, NE hospital due to health concerns for the baby. Will this change our legal rights regarding the baby's birth certificate? Will we both be able to be listed as parents on the birth certificate if the baby is born in Nebraska?

I would contact the Department of Public Health for further advice. Here's something you might be interested in.
