My son and his girlfriend have lived together in Iowa for the past 5 years and have 2 children together. They are now separating, does he need an attorney and how do they go about handling child support?

1. Yes, particularly where custody and support is an issue. 2. Financial affidavits are filed by both parties and the court determines what is appropriate considering the uniform child support guidelines.
