Legal Question in Medical Leave in Iowa

IF I HAVE A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD WITH AUTISM AND MODERATE MENTAL RETARDATION CAN MY EMPLOYER CHANGE MY WORK HOURS AFTER I AM HIRED AND HAVE WORKED THE SAME HOURS SINCE i WAS HIRED FULLTIME. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO WORK A DIFFERENT SHIFT. I DO NOT HAVE ANYONE TO CARE FOR MY CHILD BECAUSE OF THE CHANGE OF HOURS. DOES THE FMLA COVER ME. CAN MY EMPLOYER DO THIS TO ME. MY SON IS ONLY 10 YEARS OLD AND NO WAY CAN BE LEFT ALONG BY HIMSELF. HE WOULD BE PUTTING HIMSELF IN DANGER IF LEFT ALONG BY HIMSELF. WHAT ARE MY RIGHTS>??? DOES THE FMLA COVER ME TO TAKE CARE OF HIM AND AGRUE WITH MY EMPLOYER ABOUT THE CHANGE IN HOURS THAT WILL NOT WORK FOR ME?????

FMLA probably does not apply to your situation. Unfortunately Iowa is a right to work state which means you can be terminated for any reason, good reason or no reason at all.
