Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Iowa

I loaned money to a friend that lives in another state. To file in claims court, do I file in my state or residence or the borrowers? I live in Iowa the borrower lives in Minnesota.

You could sue the person in Iowa but the problem you would have is serving process and enforcing a judgment. The alternative is to litigate at long range in Minnesota.
