Legal Question in Traffic Law in Iowa

I had a suspended license for not paying a traffic ticket. I did not know my license was suspended because I am a college student living on campus and I did not update my address with the Department of Transportation. I'm assuming notice would have been sent to my parents but they say they don't remember getting it either. Ultimately I was pulled over for expired registration. This is when I was informed that my license was suspended. At the scene I told I would be getting two citations which I signed for and recieved a copy of. One for the expired registration, and another for liability insurance. At the court date I was told I had three citations. The two that I previously mentioned and a third for driving with a suspended license. The third citation is signed with my name but I did not received a copy of this citation nor was I told that I would be getting a citation for this. I have since reinstated my license, insurance, and registration. I am waiting for my next court date and would like advice about what to do next.

This occurred in Iowa and I don't have a previous criminal record.

You can negotiate it down to a no driver's license ticket usually. Kinda hard to say more but if your record is good so are your chances.
