Legal Question in DUI Law in Kansas

My charges are dui, possession of marijuana, two felony child endangerments, and attempt to evade. I was in Cherokee County jail, Kansas, when I came to. I live in Joplin, MO. I don't remember anything, and was released after a 48 hour hold and told to contact the court on Monday. I need to know if I should sign temporary custody of my son over to my parents until this is resolved as a way to make sure he is not taken from me by the state. I also need to know how much jail time I will face. This is my first felony offense, but I had a previous DUI charge in Joplin, MO, about 3 years ago. I refused a breathalyzer test but was found with vodka on me. I do not remember anything of that night, I was blacked out.

It may be good for you to put your child with your parents to avoid Foster care. But, you should consult directly with a criminal defense attorney ASAP.

Good luck
