Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

I have 2 children with my ex wife which my divorce decree in 2007 set child support at a total of $500. My youngest is 14 and lives with my ex wife. Support always current (no arrears). The other child turned 18 in Nov.2014, but quit high school appx April 2014, moved out of his mothers house, and now works and lives on his own. Is this an easy situation to get the child support cut in half?...or is there a long attorney filled process to get this done?.....and do they have to dig into my current income, etc. and recalculate it -or do they go by the decree amount?

A new calculation, based upon current income, may be required for a Motion to Modify. But, depending upon how the decree was written, the amount should go down in June, if it didn't eight days ago. But, given the Order is seven years old, support will not likely go down 50%.

Good luck
