Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

father wants a dna

I have been considering adoption and I am in the process of it but the father that I say it is is telling me he wont sign the papers until I can prove he is the father of the baby. If its the other person he dont care but he wont let me give it up. Who has to pay for the dna and what is the law to get the dad or whom I think is the dad to sign the papers? I have mixed feelings and would like to keep the baby but I also want a career in Law and I am only in 11th grade. What to do and what can I do about getting a dna or is that my responsibility?

Re: father wants a dna

Let the adoption agency place the child and handle the termination of parental rights issue with the natural father. If he fails to assert his interests, the child will be placed and adopted in due course.
