Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

My grandmother passed away when i was 3 years old. Before she passed she had saved up a bank account for my college fund for me, i think the about was $15,000. After she passed my dad took all the money out of the bank account and spent it on drugs and alcohol. I do not know what bank it was nor do i have bank summary's or receipts. My dad has put me through alot of what i consider emotional abuse.. Is it possible to sue him for this? If yes do you know the steps i'd have to take

If there were no protections or other indications that the money was held in trust for yrou college education, there maybe little you can do. If you recenlty turned eighteen, you might be able to sue the trustee of a turst for yrou benefit. If the accoutn you described, was just a regular savings fo checking account in your grandmother's name, there may be no trust. Before giving up, you shoud lconsutl directly with a probate or estate attorney in your area. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation. Take whatever documentation or notes you have, and have them assess your situation. That way you can decide your best, if any, legal move.

Good luck
