Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

I have joint custody with my daughters father. My question is if after asking him repeatedly not to take our daughter nearly halfway across the state (from near Lawrence ks to Wichita ks, 163 miles) without my permission for weekends at a time. Is there any legal recourse I can take? The last time he did not even accompany our daughter he sent her with his girlfriend.

If there is no Order restricting his travel within the state, your interference could be grounds for you to lose custody. If you have genuine concerns about specific bad acts that the girlfriend is doing, bring them to the attention of the Court. But, if you don't, and the Court finds out that you are attempting to tell the father where he can take the child, or you're interrogating your child about where they go on visits with Dad, you could be branded add trying thwart the Judge's effort to keep the kids interacting with both parents. If that happens, the judge may be convinced that visitation would occur better if the child lives with Dad, and you pay support and get periodic visitation.

Good luck
