Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

I am getting married in 3 weeks. My fianc has a 4 year old daughter that does not live with us, and he is court ordered to put insurance on her if he gets health insurance on himself. He currently works at a place that does not offer insurance. I, however, have good health insurance. If I add him to my plan when we get married, am I legally obligated to put his daughter on mine as well? The mother is irresponsible and takes her to the doctor and emergency room for every minor scrape, bump, and bruise, and I would just not be able to afford that.

You are not obligated to spend any money relating to his Divorce and Custody Order. The future husband may be required to purchase insurance for his child, when you out him in your policy. He may be able to get insurance for the child, and hold into the insurance card himself. That would require him to attend treatments. You wouldn't want to marry s gut that would abandon his kud when she is sick or injured.

Good luck
