Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

I only get a small disability pension and my son's father has no living expenses and makes good money. He has lived with his parents for the past 6 yrs or his job pays his travel expenses (hotel, food allowence, reimbursement for mileage, etc..) Is there any way I can file to get child support pass the age of 18 because my son is going to college and I have been paying for everything his whole life except for the small amount of child support I get, he has been in contempt of the child support order since it was created. He has never paid me his percentage of medical bills or has not maintain insurance on him or he never would respond to SRS/DCF request for his salary for an increase in child support and I cannot afford thousands of dollars for an attorney unless it will be worth it. Can I do anything to get help for his expenses?

Based upon the facts you described you may be able to sue the father fotr some or all off the arrearage. You might have a chance for continued support, but that would only be within a narrow set of facts. 6ou should consult directly with s civil collection attorney in your area., very soon. The time to collect old debts can be short.

Good luck
