Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Every time my ex contacts me even if I just ask him if he is getting his son he says demeaning and disrespectful things to me, I'm gettin really tired of dealing with his emotional and verbal abuse. Do I have to have contact with him ? We have no court orders and are in middle of court I have a lawyer and he don't he keeps disagreeing with parenting plans and dragging it on and doesn't help out financially either. He's gone 3 months without visits & tries and turns it against me saying I'm keeping him from him when I'm NOT. I say I can meet for drop off and pick up and he insists on picking him up at my house and keeping him longer than the weekend I won't allow him to keep him longer than Sunday nights because he has tried once before to keep him pernamentally from me and I'm scared he will do the same I'm the main caretaker for our son I just don't want to have to deal with him being so disrespectful and mean all the time, do I have to keep contact with him?

S you indicated, you have an attorney already. Therefore, we cannot give you legal advice that should come from your attorney. It might be time to tell your attorney that you wish to have the Judge decide the parenting plan, if your ex and you cannot make one. Unless you give sole custody to your ex, you may have to interact with him until your child is out if college. Discuss the frustrations with your attorney, understanding that their time costs money.
