Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Kansas

If I put a monitary hold down on an apartment and am told the money goes towards the deposits and makes it so that they are unable to offer that apartment to anyone else and then they have another party sign the lease for said apartment, do I have any legal standing?

At the least, it seems that you're entitled to your full deposit back. You may also be entitled to damages (costs of finding another apartment) if the facts warrant. You were inky able to provide very few facts here. You should consult directly with a civil practice attorney un your area, who can give advice based upon all the pertinent facts.
