Legal Question in Personal Injury in Kansas

My son's vehicle was stolen and wrecked by the thief. Is my son responsible for medical bills incurred by the thief?

If a stranger steals a car and then unlawfully drives the vehicle off the owner's property, and then is injured, it is unlikely that any court woudl find the vehicle owner liable for the injuries. But, change the facts alittle; (not a strnger, injury occurs on owner's property, etc. and there may be some liability.
